This paper used an artificial jellyfish search (AJFS) optimizer suitable for selective harmonic elimination-based modulation multilevel inverter (MLI) voltage control application. The main objective was to remove the undesired lower-order harmonics in output waveform of MLI. algorithm motivated by behavior ocean. Jellyfish have ability find global best position where a large quantity nutritious food is available. applied AJFS on five, seven, and nine levels CHB-MLI. optimum switching angle calculated entire range desired elimination. problem formulated achieve solved MATLAB environment. total distortion (THD) values five-, seven-, nine-level inverters various indexes were computed using compared with powerful differential evolution (DE) algorithm. comparison THD results clearly demonstrated superior CHB-MLI over DE GA low medium index. experimental further validated better performance
